Trek to Joy

Being Grateful

So the other day I am sitting thinking about what I am grateful for and came up with a long list. It actually brought me JOY. Wow, I couldn’t believe just thinking this way could do that, but it did

So what am I grateful for, lets see?

  • My children (most of the time)
  • My husband (most of the time)
  • My friends
  • My dog
  • My home
  • My life
  • My body and brain
  • My Hair – LOL
  • My knowledge
  • My wonderful life

So those are just some of the things to be grateful for, but this can and should be much longer and more detailed list. It brings me happiness to know that I have stuff to be grateful for. If we all thought this way everyday then what a different world we would live in.

One day I am happy and then another I am sad. My emotions are all over the map yet from day to day I see the world differently. Our emotions create our reality. Joy is within us; it is just trying to achieve this state of mind everyday. To change my mood if I choose to, I watch Ellen, listen to my son sing, watch my other son play hockey, talk to my children, etc.…. It is all in the way you view the world around you. Choose to see the good not the bad, live in a positive state of mind, be happy with who you are, and live life to the fullest.

“Gratitude helps us to return to our natural state of joyfulness, where we notice what’s right instead of what’s wrong. It makes us feel complete; that we have everything we need, at least in this moment.” M.J. Ryan
