So life is going along as normal and there are these moments of pure joy. They are coming more frequently but still not often enough to say I am happy or joyous.
I haven’t written for a while, 3 month to be accurate. Partly because the joy has been hard to find. My life has been in chaos and I am just trying to stay one step ahead. No excuse other than it was hard to write about a subject when you are having trouble finding the joy for yourself.
There are the horrible things happening in the world lately, which have upset us all. The cruelty is exceptionally horrific and disturbing. It is hard to find joy when the world seems to be falling apart.
As solutions to my predicament come to me, I find that I can once again see, feel, hear and find joy. There is always fleeting moments of joy even when in crisis mode. But it truly is harder to see, feel, hear and find during times of stress.
Maybe this is why there are so many positive animal photos and stories on FB. Or why we are seeing more happy stories in the media. Because we need the positive whether we want to admit to it or not.
I am at the point where I can barely watch the negative, without falling into some type of depression or sadness that I have to pull myself out of. The negative contaminates our minds, heart and souls.
Joy can be found easier when the negative is not around. But I do believe positive comes out of the negative. We all have to look for it.
During times of cruelty we need to find the positive, the joy, the happiness, and the love. Look around right now. What do you see that makes you joyous? Maybe it is your kids, your pet, your spouse, your friend, your TV or your hobby. Look and see what you can find. Open your mind to what makes you joyous and happy.
“I’m into the law of attraction and quantum physics. Like cosmic ordering. It’s all about thinking lovely things that you would like in life, and feeling good about them before they manifest, so that by the time they do, you don’t want them because you’re on to your next desire.” Julia Sawalha
Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.” Karl Barth
“If we’re destroying our trees and destroying our environment and hurting animals and hurting one another and all that stuff, there’s got to be a very powerful energy to fight that. I think we need more love in the world. We need more kindness, more compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definitely want to contribute to that.” Ellen DeGeneres
“Simply put, you believe that things or people make you unhappy, but this is not accurate. You make yourself unhappy.” Dr. Wayne Dyer
